About Rob Snowden

Early days...

From the mid seventies, through the eighties and into the nineties, being a Mobile DJ was a major part of my life - running a small, but very successful Mobile DJ business in and around York, North Yorkshire going by the name of ‘Geronimo Mobile Disco'. Exciting times!  Gigs were varied and included private parties, engagements and weddings as well as university summer school conferences - those were pretty wild but were great fun.

and then...

As the millenium arrived, my family and career began to take up more of my time and my interest in the music of the day began to wane.  For nearly 25 years I had been out DJing some times 2-3 times a week, all this in addition to my full time day job.  To be honest lugging all those boxes of records around started to take its toll.

So it was decided that it was time to close down Geronimo.

Back on the road?

Well no, I am too long in the tooth for that, but my passion for the tunes of the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s remains as strong as ever. I decided to create a YouTube channel dedicated to re-living some of my original 12” Vinyl Moments..

Vintage DJ! the name really does say it all - Vintage music played by a genuine Vintage DJ - the perfect combination. Playing amazing music from a magical period in time, the songs are carefully curated from a massive collection, to create memorable setlists.

I only play oldies music from my own personal vinyl collection. The hits from yesteryear never disappoint and continue to be perennial favourites across all age groups.

I’m assisted by my partner, Gwen. She shares my passion for music from the same period - we make a great team!… and no more heavy boxes of records to lift.  Happy days!
